From August 2 to August 4 see an energetic double bill with Kadima Dance Company and Beyachad School of Dance. Then, from August 5 to August 8 get captivated by the Sarah Sommer Chai Folk Ensemble. Savour authentic Israeli cuisine, delicious pastries, and refreshing Limonana. No matter who you are, everyone is welcome at our table.


August 2 - 4 | Kadima Dance Company & Beyachad School of Dance

Founded in 2019 by Hadera Kliman, Kadima Dance Company is Winnipeg’s newest Israeli dance ensemble. Comprised of 20 adult dancers, Kadima is dedicated to celebrating and preserving Jewish culture and heritage through both traditional and contemporary Israeli dance.

The company performs dynamic choreography inspired by the spirit, diversity, and resilience of Israeli culture, bringing energy and authenticity to every stage. In addition to performing, Kadima’s dancers also take an active role in choreographing pieces, contributing their own creativity and artistic voices to the company’s evolving repertoire.

Through performances at community events, cultural celebrations, and festivals both locally and nationally, Kadima creates meaningful connections and shares the joy of dance with audiences of all backgrounds. Driven by passion, community, and artistic expression, Kadima Dance Company continues to foster cultural pride while honouring tradition in a vibrant and modern way.

Welcome to the Main Stage: Beyachad School of Dance!

Beyachad – The Robyn Braha School of Dance has been a large part of Winnipeg’s Israeli dance community for the past 28 years, sharing a deep love of Israeli dance with performers of all ages. The school offers after‑school programming at The Rady JCC and has proudly represented Winnipeg at Israeli Dance Festivals across Canada, as well as in Miami, Disney World, and Universal Studios. 

The dancers are thrilled to be part of this year’s Israel Pavilion at Folklorama.

August 5 - 8 | Sarah Sommer Chai Folk Ensemble

Sarah Sommer Chai Folk Ensemble is one of Winnipeg’s oldest and most renowned ethnic dance groups.

Founded in 1964 by the late Sarah Sommer, Chai has been constantly growing in both stature and artistic accomplishment while thrilling audiences at home and abroad with its unique blend of music, song, and dance.

Consisting of over 30 talented singers, dancers, and musicians, Chai has performed across Canada and the United States of America and has the pleasure of appearing locally with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and under the auspices of Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

The ensemble has also been a feature attraction at Folklorama’s Israel Pavilion – Shalom Square since the first Folklorama in 1970.

The ensemble brings together many facets of Jewish culture from diverse times and places through the threads of dance, music, and song to form a captivating and memorable presentation for audiences of all ages.
