This August, we invite the world into our home.

For one unforgettable week, thousands of people from every corner of Winnipeg will walk through the gates of the Asper Jewish Community Campus to experience the sights, sounds, flavours, and hospitality of Israel at Shalom Square, Folklorama’s beloved Israel Pavilion.

From Sunday, August 2 through Saturday, August 8, Shalom Square transforms our campus into one of Folklorama’s most vibrant and well attended destinations. Guests enjoy authentic Israeli cuisine, fresh pastries and limonana, explore beautiful cultural displays, and experience outstanding entertainment that leaves audiences inspired year after year.

This summer promises to be one of our best yet. From August 2 through 4, Kadima Dance Company and the Beyachad School of Dance will fill the stage with an exciting celebration of Israeli dance. From August 5 through 8, the renowned Sarah Sommer Chai Folk Ensemble returns with the unforgettable music and dance that has made them a Folklorama favourite for generations.

For many visitors, Shalom Square is their very first introduction to Israel, Jewish culture, and our local Jewish Community. It is an opportunity to replace headlines with human connection through music, food, conversation, and celebration. Every performance, every meal, and every interaction help tell our story.
