Because the best moments are meant to be shared together.
Family programming is about more than events.
It’s about creating welcoming spaces where families of all shapes and stages can gather, celebrate traditions, and enjoy time together. Whether it’s lighting candles, sharing a meal, marking a milestone, or simply showing up for something fun, every moment is designed to foster connection and belonging.
Our programs invite children to play, explore, and learn while giving parents and caregivers the chance to meet others, build friendships, and feel at home.
Whether you’re new to the community or have been here for generations, there’s a place for your family at the Rady.
Come celebrate, connect, and grow together.

Purim Palooza is a joyous celebration for everyone!
On Sunday, March 1, from 4 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Rady JCC gym, your entire family is invited to our Purim Carnival. Join us for carnival games, costumes, and community.
- Snack on hamantaschen, traditional Purim cookies, as well as popcorn, cotton candy, and more
- Show off your costumes. Open up the dress-up box and show up in your favourite outfit. The only suggestion is that you’ll want to wear something that fits in the bouncy castle, or can go down a giant slide - because yes .. there will be bouncy
castles and a giant slide! - Get a fancy glitter tattoo or bright and stylish face paint, then show it all off in the photo booth
- Did we mention the carnival is FREE to attend? No registration required
Purim Palooza is presented in partnership with PJ Library, Jewish Federation of Winnipeg, Gray Academy of Jewish Education, and BB Camp.
Absolutely everyone is welcome
Whether you celebrate Purim or not, we welcome you to be a part of this fabulous party inclusive of all faiths and backgrounds. It is a great way to feel connected with your family, and join the Rady JCC community for a carnival to remember.
So, whatever you are doing on Sunday, March 1, be sure to add this to your list.
What is Purim?
Purim is a carnival that commemorates an important story in Jewish tradition, when Queen Esther of Persia, who was Jewish, took a brave stand on behalf of the Jewish people, and saved their lives in doing so. It is a festival that celebrates this bravery and community, moreso than being rooted in a strictly religious tradition.
Every year on Purim, communities come together in to throw a carnival, to celebrate with games, food, costumes, and fun. Regardless of your family’s traditions, beliefs, or background, you are welcomed to the Purim celebration. L’Chaim!
