What a festival it was!
Israel Pavilion - Shalom Square | August 2 - 8, 2026
Once again, the vibrant and captivating land of Israel came to our corner of Winnipeg. Israel is a small country where ancient traditions and history intertwine with the energy of modern, cosmopolitan life. From deserts and snowy mountains to the beaches along the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea – the lowest point on Earth – Israel offers an unforgettable journey through nature and culture.
Acclaimed Israeli Dance Performers Captivated Audiences
This year Israel Pavilion was honoured to welcome back and present a captivating performance by the internationally acclaimed Sarah Sommer Chai Folk Ensemble. With the talent of their vocalists, onstage band, and incredible dancers, they brought the traditions and emotions of Israeli performance to life on the main stage.
Kicking off the festivities this year was the exceptional Kadima Dance Company, whose diverse backgrounds and creativity shine through in every Israeli dance they perform. Kadima was the headline act for the first four days of the pavilion.
As special guests this year, and appearing on the Pavilion stage for the first time, we welcomed Beyachad School of Dance. These young dancers shone during their performances, and delighted the crowd with their energy and expressiveness. Audiences were also treated to a special Israeli vocal perforamance by Nicol Derman.
Watching such incredible performances is hungry and thirsty work, and our food stations were bustling, serving up the flavours of Israel with traditional dishes, irresistible pastries and desserts, and a glasses of authentic Israeli wine or Limonana Twist.
