In just 4 weeks, international jazz sensation, Cyrille Aimée will take the stage at the Berney Theatre for two weekend shows full of sensational solos, bright vocals, and global jazz riffs to move your soul and make your jazz-loving spirits soar.
This concert is the finale of the 2025-2026 Izzy Asper Jazz Performances, and we couldn’t be more excited to have Ms Aimée joining us.
Worldly Influences. Classic Sound
Raised around music and dance in Samois-sur-Seine, France, her sound pays homage to Romani jazz prevalent in the area where she grew up, and the Afro-Caribbean rhythms of bachata and merengue from her mother’s native Dominican Republic.
In 2024 Aimée returned to New York from her home in the forests of Costa Rica. There, in the very heart of Manhattan Jazz, she teamed up with producer/multi-instrumentalist Jake Sherman, and together they have created her latest album, Grammy Nominated à Fleur de Peau.

HONOURING IZZY ASPER’S VISION
Now in its 26th season, the Izzy Asper Jazz Performances remain one of Winnipeg’s most beloved arts traditions.
It was Izzy Asper’s dream to make world-class jazz accessible to his city and to bring the best artists from across the globe to a Winnipeg stage, igniting the same passion for jazz that inspired him.
Through the continued generosity and vision of The Asper Foundation, that dream not only endures but grows. In May 2025, The Asper Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to a vibrant, inclusive, and thriving cultural landscape in Winnipeg by increasing funding to Rady JCC’s arts and cultural programming through their newly developed Asper Cultural Enrichment Initiative, including the Izzy Asper Jazz Performances.
