Dear Rady Friends,
This year at the Rady JCC, we didn’t just move forward; we moved upward.
Together, we elevated programs, reimagined spaces, and reignited our community’s spirit. Every class, every concert, every conversation reminded us that when we come together, extraordinary things happen.
Now, we invite you, whether you are a Rady Member, a friend, or a supporter of Jewish life in Winnipeg, to join us as we reflect, reconnect, and celebrate the people who helped make it all possible.

Celebrating Our 2025 Kehilla Volunteer Award Recipients
Each of these remarkable individuals reminds us of what it means to elevate others through kindness, leadership, and dedication. Kehilla Awards are given out annually in various categories.
CULTURAL ARTS:
Lihi Ben Chimol
At just 15, Lihi’s creativity and energy light up every room she enters. Through children’s programming and community celebrations, she inspires the next generation of leaders, showing that heart and dedication matter more than age.
Dave Berkowits
A calm and trusted presence at Folklorama’s Shalom Square, Dave leads the security team with professionalism and care. His commitment ensures safety while fostering a warm, welcoming environment for guests, volunteers, and staff alike.
Jessica Cogan
Jessica is the person who sees a problem and says, “Don’t worry, I’ve got this,” and then actually does it, all while making it look effortless. Most recently, she led a successful campaign to revitalize the Israel Pavilion’s Ambassador costumes, combining initiative, generosity, and passion to lift everyone around her.
EARLY LEARNING:
Ashley Cabernel
A devoted parent and advocate, Ashley bridges families and educators with warmth and vision. Her leadership ensures our youngest learners grow in an environment that is nurturing, inspiring, and full of possibilities.
FITNESS & HEALTH:
Al Shell
A Platinum Member whose positivity fills our facility, Al demonstrates that strength isn’t just measured in reps. It’s measured in kindness, encouragement, and community connection. His generosity supports programs and arts initiatives, lifting the Rady community as a whole.
Honouring Our 2025 Sid Slonim Award Recipient
The Sid Slonim Award is the Rady JCC’s highest individual honour. Named in memory of Sid Slonim(z”l), a beloved longtime Rady Member, it is given each year to a member whose generosity, dedication, and warmth touch every corner of our community.
This year’s Sid Slonim Award recipient is Ken Einhorn.
Ken is a fixture at the Rady. Whether on the fitness floor, playing pickleball, or chatting with staff and members, he lifts everyone around him simply by being present.
His kindness and commitment have strengthened our community for decades, from helping shape our Rady Sports Dinners in its early days to serving as a tireless ambassador for the organization.
It is our privilege to celebrate Ken’s extraordinary contributions and to recognize him as a shining example of what it means to elevate others.
On behalf of the Rady JCC, we hope you will join us for this special evening. It will be a chance to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate the people whose energy and generosity make our community thrive.
Warm regards,
Rob Berkowits
