Checkmate boredom.
Kids ages 9 to 12 will learn the basics of chess through fun activities, practice games and plenty of time at the board. Along the way, they will build confidence, sharpen their thinking and learn some seriously cool strategies.
The 13-week program finishes with a friendly tournament where players can show off their new skills with family and friends watching.

JCC STEM Innovators - Junior Engineers Wanted!
Engineering for Kids Winnipeg instructors will guide kids through interesting and intriguing projects and skill-building exercises. From designing simple machines to building creative structures, children will learn to think like real engineers while problem-solving, experimenting, and collaborating with their peers.
Each session ends with kids taking home their creations!

Big ideas start with little innovators!
In this hands on STEM program, kids ages 4 to 7 will explore science, engineering and creative problem solving through stories, building challenges and fun projects. Each session introduces a new concept through an engaging themed story, followed by a hands on activity that lets kids build, experiment, create and see their ideas come to life.
Kids will develop problem solving skills, confidence and creativity while having a whole lot of fun.
Every session ends with a project they can take home and show off!

Ready to take your building skills to the next level?
In this hands on STEM program, kids ages 8 to 12 will dive into the exciting world of engineering through creative building challenges, design projects and problem solving activities.
Using craft materials, recyclables and reusable components, participants will explore different areas of engineering while turning their ideas into real creations.
Kids will have opportunities to experiment, think critically, work as a team and tackle challenges in their own creative ways.
Whether they are building from a plan or coming up with their own design, every project is a chance to imagine, build and make something awesome.

What if your next masterpiece started in the recycling bin?
Green Creators is a hands on art class where kids ages 7 to 11 turn everyday recycled materials into something completely new. Using cardboard, bottle caps, fabric scraps, paper rolls and more, kids will create funky sculptures, colourful collages and all kinds of creative projects.
It is a chance to get messy, think creatively, try something new and have fun while giving everyday items a second life.
