Shemesh - Preschool Half-Day Camp (Ages 3 – 5)
Mornings: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Afternoons: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
For the little ones, Camp Shemesh is a little of everything. In a caring environment, a wide variety of recreational and social experiences provide children with the opportunity to learn new skills and develop self-esteem. Children can enjoy fun and enjoyable programs including arts and crafts, gym activities, swimming, story time, music and cooking. We offer safe, well-organized, fun and accessible programs designed in relation to the camper's age and level of development.
Children attending Camp Shemesh must be 3 years of age by June 27, 2008 and must be fully toilet trained.

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Children registered for Camp Shemesh can either stay over lunch until 1:00 p.m. after the morning program or come early for lunch at 12:00 p.m. before the afternoon program. This is a free service. Children must bring their own lunch or purchase the Lunch Option.
Keshet: Full Day Camps
The morning will focus on specialty-based programming such as soccer, magic and performing arts. Afternoons will include traditional day camp activities such as arts and crafts, sports, swimming, and wall climbing, plus group projects, theme days, and terrific adventures. In the afternoon, campers will be grouped according to their grades.

Aquatic Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Aquatic Camp will give campers the opportunity to improve their swimming skills through daily instruction and to participate in a variety of activities such as water games, kayaking and water sports like volleyball and basketball.

Rocket Science Camp - Formerly Mad Science Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Rocket Science Camp is a week of hands-on exploration of the world of science. Each day will have a specific theme with experiments devoted to exploring that theme. For example, one day will be “Flight” where each camper builds their own rocket and caps it off with a rocket launch. Another day the theme could be “Heat” where we do our Heat workshop then take a huge 50 foot balloon and make it lift off the ground powered solely by the heat of the sun, we also cook our snacks in solar ovens and for dessert we see how heat is instrumental in making Cotton Candy!

Soccer Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Back by popular demand, we are pleased to present an awesome soccer camp with instruction from experienced coaches and players from the Seven Oaks Soccer Complex. Campers learn skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting and ball control. Strategy, positioning and team play are important aspects of this camp.

Wall Climbing Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
On belay! Climb on! Campers will learn about safety, proper techniques, equipment care and maintenance and all the necessary knots. The climbing instruction will develop strength, flexibility and coordination as well as will promote teamwork and cooperation among the campers. Participants will be required to supply and wear a bicycle safety helmet.

Sportsmania Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
For children who love being active and interactive! Each day at Sportsmania Camp, campers participate in activities which may include basketball, soccer, archery, badminton, martial arts, floor hockey and more. In this enjoyable atmosphere, children play fun and well-known games as well as have the opportunity to recognize the value of sportsmanship and fair play.

Mission Improvisation Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Be spontaneous! Think fast! Improv theatre is the art of acting without a script, thinking on your feet, and having lots of fun! Learn drama games and activities that spark creativity, work on group dynamics, and develop public speaking skills.

Art Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Art Camp introduces campers to a variety of art forms which may include painting, drawing, cartooning and jewelry making. Under the direction of a qualified instructor, campers can discover the endless possibilities when using one’s own imagination and creativity to create fun, personal and unique art projects.

Basketball Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Hoop dreams! Basketball camp is designed to be a fun and challenging experience where your child will learn passing, shooting and dribbling skills as well as game fundamentals and team play.

Magic Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Abra Cadabra! Magic Camp appears again this summer at the Rady JCC. Be ready with your wands and potions as our magician teaches campers the art of magic and tricks galore. Experience a week filled with surprises as campers learn the mystery behind the magic.

Play Ball Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Play Ball! Join this fun and active camp, where each day will include a variety of games and activities using an assortment of balls. Campers can look forward to Dodge ball, Pin Guard, Parachute Games, Mission Impossible and Klesh just to name a few.

Cooking & Crafts Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
This camp combines two great activities…cooking and crafts. Be ready for a messy time, as campers prepare delightful food creations and fun craft projects. Each day campers make goodies from easy recipes using all kinds of yummy ingredients as well as interesting creations with a variety of craft materials. While the food is in the oven, campers are getting involved with some crazy craft activities. Whether its pizza and cookies or candles and masks, this camp is full of fun and surprises. Kosher dietary laws observed.

Tennis Camp (Ages 6 - 12)

Robotics Camp (Ages 8 - 12)
Join us for a week of fun with amazing robots! Learn about the uses of robots in our world and spend time experimenting with super cool red-hot robots. Experiment with sound sensing robots, line-tracking robots, amphibious robots and robots that can even play soccer! Discover the science of circuits and how robots use sensors to explore things around them. Use your skills to build your very own working robot to take home with you!

Dance Mix Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
This is an exciting and energetic dance camp with style! This program includes warm up, center technique, and patterns. Skills such as balance, coordination, rhythm and dynamic level of movement are developed to popular music. Campers will explore different type of dances such as jazz, hip hop, tap and other dance genres.

Adventure Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Think outside the box! For something a little bit different join Adventure Camp as we venture out in a week filled with unique and exciting activities. Every day campers can enjoy a variety of experiences which may include a scavenger hunt, picnic, outdoor sports and visits to some of Winnipeg’s most vibrant and fascinating hot-spots. Campers depart on a daily journey in order to discover old favorites, new surprises… and everything in between. No two days are alike. All admissions and transportation are included in the price.

Golf Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Campers are introduced to all the elements of the game of golf through fun concepts and basic instructions taught by CPGA golf professional. They are introduced to the tee, the greens; the different golf clubs used and will be taught basic concepts of etiquette. The CPGA golf professional will analyze their golf swing using a video camera to tape their swing and the child will get to take home a picture of their golf swing. On the final day, the children will get an opportunity to play a few holes with the golf professional that instructed them throughout the week.

Campers will develop skill, agility and fitness. Focus will be placed on learning the fundamentals and skills of this game. Floor Hockey Camp is designed to teach cooperation, self discipline and sportsmanship while building self-confidence.

From Page to Stage Camp (Ages 6 - 12)
Aspiring actors: want to experience the rehearsal process that goes into the performance of a play? In this camp, campers will get a chance to rehearse a published scene with a partner and perform it at the end of the camp for an audience of friends and family. Campers will work on staging, voice, memorization techniques, and text work - all important steps in the play process!

Teen Connection Camp (Ages 13-18)
Dates: July 14 -25 and August 11-22
This camp is available to teens with disabilities that are between the ages of 13-18. Age appropriate recreational activities will be combined with cooking and the chance to visit some of Winnipeg’s most vibrant and fascinating hot spots. Participants must provide their own one-to-one aide support and for further inquiries please contact the Special Needs Coordinator at 477-7406. Participants are screened to determine eligibility and space is limited. The program is able to respond to individual needs, abilities, and expectations of our participants.
Cost: $400.00 for members and $450.00 for non-members. All admissions and transportation is included.
