The Rady JCC is pleased to offer a taxi voucher service for adults 70 years of age or older who are experiencing a loss in mobility. The service is available from November to April each year. For $2.00 you can purchase a voucher worth $4.00 towards a taxi. The maximum number of vouchers is eight for single older adults and twelve for couples. All requests will be reviewed for eligibility and all information provided is kept confidential. These vouchers are non-refundable.

The Rady JCC is currently providing a resource network that makes available computer access to the community. The Centre is host to a small access site within the Kaufman Silverberg Library. The hours of operation are as follows:

Monday –Thursday 8:15 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Friday 8:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

On the third Tuesday of every month from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the Adult Lounge, there will be a free blood pressure screening for Rady JCC members. This program has been made available by RealCare.

The Rady JCC has many exciting volunteer opportunities. You can volunteer for a one time special event, or volunteer for a short or long term commitment. Work in a rewarding, friendly environment, and give back to your community! The Stay Young Club at the Rady JCC is designed to enhance the quality of life and provide opportunities for maintaining wellness to the older adult through social, cultural, educational and fitness programs. A wonderful opportunity to make new friends and enjoy new experiences.

The Rose and Max Rady Jewish Community Centre and Jewish Child and Family Service are pleased to offer a brand new program to Jewish mental health consumers. Group activities will focus on socializing, learning new life skills, diet and nutrition, education, fun activities, health and fitness, holistic wellness, spiritual growth, cultural programs and much more. The group will have a maximum of ten participants. Transportation will be provided for those who require it. A weekly group designed to strengthen and support adults with early stage memory loss.
Running from September to June, this program is presented by the Rady JCC in partnership with Jewish Child and Family Service. Transportation is provided; however the program requires a minimum of 6 participants in order to operate the transportation service. There will be a short questionnaire to be filled out following registration and registrants will be interviewed for readiness. The Rady JCC is pleased to continue its NEW Dinner Club. Enjoy dinner and socializing with old and new friends and experience the great tastes at some of Winnipeg’s most vibrant restaurants. Our spring session will feature once again restauarants and venues with an ethnic flavour. Join us one Thursday each month at 5:30 p.m. Watch for more details or call Kathy at 477-7545.
